This I believe, that the national debt and budget deficits can not be brought under control unless we bring down the total cost of healthcare and reform Social Security.
This I believe, that ever increasing cost of healthcare regardless of the source of funding – private or public – is unsustainable, and in the long run, will pose an undue threat to the economic and financial well-being of the United States of America.
This I believe, if total healthcare expenditure is brought down from 18% of GDP to 15% by cutting down excessive utilization, the overall health of the nation will improve and American business and enterprise will get a tremendous boost in their competitive edge in the global marketplace. For example General Motors won’t have to spend additional $2000 for each vehicle manufactured to pay for the health insurance premiums of its employees. In fact had this problem been fixed some years ago General Motors in all likelihood would have avoided bankruptcy and bail out by taxpayers.
This I believe, that the total healthcare expenditure can not be brought down unless a meaningful tort reform has been achieved. Without a uniform tort reform physicians around the country will continue to practice defensive medicine which is the most important single cause of excessive utilization of healthcare services producing excessive expense without improving quality. Other causes will be easy to deal with after a satisfactory tort reform.
This I believe, that a meaningful tort reform can not be achieved unless the axis of SIGLAP is broken. S--I- -G stands for special interest groups and L–A-- P stands for lobbyists and politicians. So the axis of SIGLAP is made of special interest groups, lobbyists and politicians. By serving themselves and each other, its members keep on reinforcing this axis all the time. Even well intentioned politicians find it hard to introduce meaningful reforms because they are part of the axis. This axis is also responsible for the lack of oversight on the banking and finance industries which were engaged for a long time in the rampant practice of capitalism without conscience causing the worst financial and economic crises of our times.
This I believe, that 85% of people think that the country is going on the wrong track but politicians are unable to see it because their vision has been tainted by the axis of SIGLAP.
This I believe, that the axis of SIGLAP is not allowing the government to serve the people. The government by the people and of the people is no more for the people. It is for the members of the axis of SIGLAP.
When a government of the people, by the people is not able to serve the people, what must the people do? That is the first question for the people to answer.
This I believe, that given these circumstances, the people have one and only one choice – break the axis of SIGLAP. How? That is the second question for the people to answer.
This I believe, that people must develop a consistent and a coherent message on behalf of all the people. The message must be simple and yet comprehensive, almost like a roadmap. They must send this message to Washington individually, collectively and massively. This will shake up the politicians and the lobbyists. The axis of SIGLAP will break, and Washington will start breathing some fresh air.
This I believe, that the message has been developed and printed in a book titled “SENSE OF DIRECTION IT NEEDS TO BE RESTORED PART I HEALTHCARE”. Now it is up to we the people to take action and send this message to Washington.
This I believe, that the action has been rightly named “ Operation Save Healthcare Save America – with a million book march to Washington”. Its rationale and modus operandi are more fully described at the Website www.sodhealthcare.com.
This I believe, that all people must participate in this action including the youth who, of late, seem to be occupied with twitter, texting, face book and other such activities. Their aptness with such activities, however, may make it easier and quicker for them to accomplish the goal.
This I believe, that this action will be easier to take and have a greater impact and more lasting effect than what can be achieved even with a million man march, which undoubtedly, will be more expensive in time and money.
This I believe, that American hegemony for nearly one hundred years has been good for America and the rest of the world. Its decline at some point would be considered natural and acceptable as other nations come up to share power and influence. But a rapid decline will neither be good for America nor for the rest of the world.
This I believe, that NBC’s Chuck Todd’s question, “How have you changed Washington”, during the presidential press conference on 9-10-10 was a wise and profound one. The president did not have the answer although he gave a long reply which made no sense. The president cannot have the answer because he cannot change Washington since he is part of the Washington political machine which is part of the axis of SIGLAP. It is we the people who can change Washington by breaking this axis.
This I believe, that the stimulus to economy must come from money saved and not from money borrowed from future generations. If we bring down the cost of healthcare from 18% of GDP to 15%, the money saved will amount to nearly $420 billion a year. Imagine the impact of stimulating the economy with 420 billion dollars every year without borrowing any money and putting any burden on our children and grand children. America will regain its economic strength and leadership.
This I believe, that Obamacare will not save a dime. In fact it will significantly increase the cost of healthcare and drain and weaken the economy further.
This I believe, that my plan, outlined in the book in a practical and comprehensive manner, will achieve the desired goal of bringing down the healthcare cost from 18% of GDP to 15% in a short time and save the nation $420 billion a year.
This I believe, when circumstances are dire as they are today, it is the duty of journalists, members of the media and other concerned citizens to convince the people to take action individually, collectively and massively.
This I believe, that this will be truly an all American movement wherein all people join together to break the axis of SIGLAP and bring the country back on the right track.
This I believe, that this movement, carried out successfully, will positively change the thinking of all political parties and corporate America. And that change in their thinking will renew the American spirit, which will once again tune America to what America has always felt proud of –American exceptionalism. With that restored, the country will start moving in the right direction.
